I was going to come to this later, but since Pastor Don, who is too shy to reply to me, triggered me about something else I've been grappling with, I'll move this question up to #2.

Regret is defined as 1. To feel sorry, disappointed, or distressed about. 2. To remember with a feeling of loss or sorrow; mourn.

I feel sorry, disappointed and distressed about my time in TFI. I regret my arrogance, my being a part of something that hurt and used people. I regret being blind and foolish enough to devote the best years of my life to something so evil. I regret creating a life that caused children who grew up in it to kill themselves. I regret the blood on my hands.

I live with regret daily. My regret is a driving force that makes me say never again. For me it means taking responsibility for my mistakes. To say I have no regrets would mean that if I could do it all over again, I would. It would mean I am not sorry about anything or endorse TFI or feel neutral about them.

Do you feel regret about what your years in the cult? Do you consider regret a necessary part of dealing with your past? Did you move on from feeling regret? If so, how?
