I will go ahead and post here. My comment about Hassan was to be in no way disparaging to psychiatrists, no hate intended. What I do hate is evil as the Bible instructs in Amos 5:15, ( Hate evil and love what is good; turn your courts into true halls of justice. Perhaps even yet the LORD God of Heaven’s Armies will have mercy on the remnant of his people.) Major Hassan is evil and his acts were evil. It is evil imo that what he did is still considered “work place violence” and not an act of terrorism. At the same time the mentioned chaplain’s acts were also evil and a reproach to the cause of Christ. I am a strong believer in pastoral counseling in conjunction with psychology. When attending Bible College I had several courses on this subject, and continue to study the same. One big thing was if a person’s problems are greater than your training refer them to a professional psychologist or psychiatrist. With that scripture refers to Jesus as the Great Physician. He and also the Holy Spirit are spoken of as counselors. After my graduation I had hopes of possibly being a chaplain. I found out number 1 I was too old, and number 2 military chaplains must have a masters degree. I graduated with my bachelors at age 55. Chaplains do a great work giving those who are believers in the military counseling and spiritual guidance they may not have access to otherwise! Again no hate intended!
