About recovered or recovering. Many members of AA use the word recovered, however they usually won't use it for themselves for a good number of years. It is used in the Big Book of AA. (official title: "Alcoholics Anonymous")You're right that many choose to always use the word recovering no matter how long they've been sober, because recovered or recovering, people 12 Step programs put it into practice one day at a time.
Personally, I think no matter what rehab/recovery program someone uses, if it works for them it's the best one for them.
