Well, the country with the greatest reduction in HIV is the African nation of Uganda. This country has had a huge revival, with millions becoming Christians.

Uganda's ABC program is threefold:
1. Abstinance
2. Be faithful to your spouce if married.
3. Condoms for those who insist on being promiscuous.

These three components of the Ugandan program are ranked in order of priority, with the most effective way of avoiding HIV being abstinence.

Before Uganda implemented the ABC program, the HIV rate was at a staggering %30. Now it has been reduced to just 5%.

My criticism of Planned Parenthood is that they not only conceal the high failure rate of condoms, but the scoff at the idea that people should even try abstinence. The attitude seems to be, "Well it's just not realistic! They are unable to control their urges, so they should just use a condom and they will be safe."

Anovagrl, you used the term "safer sex," but that is not the term these groups use. They constantly indoctrinate the public that by using condoms, you are practicing "safe sex." This is not a minor difference. Safe sex emplies 100% safety, while "safer sex" implies only a reduced risk.

Condoms are nowhere near 100% effective in preventing transmission of deadly STDs. Studies by the CDC have found they are at best only 40% effective. In the case of HPV, condoms have a 0% efficacy. Therefore, to advise people to use condoms for the prevention of STDs is in my opinion, medical malpractice.
