Some are more equal than others!
Those who for some reason where liked would be on their way up, until they would also be found lacking on something. Women had it (and have it) more difficult. With little or no training and with so much load they were (and are) an easy target to coerce into staying in the Family.
Abuse of the weak must be the second worse thing a Christian can do but Christians all over frequently forget that. In the Family it was sanctioned as the right way to live. What distortions!
