The thing that is surprising (or maybe not) is that some (and I mean SOME) of these ex-leaders retain their closeness ties after they leave. Now, that could be explained simply because they knew each other and were part of the same cohort so to say. However, what is not acceptable is to hear these people privately talk about others using the same patronizing, arrogant lingo they used before. Examples:

She/he was always a systemite. (I guess that is anybody that does not conform to the fundamentalist excog frame)

He has a weird spirit. I know because my friend (another ex-leader) told me and he has always been a good judge when it comes to spirits. (2 fools reinforcing each other's opinions)

He is afflicted by demons. (someone who needs psychiatric care)

Bottom line: some people remain more equal than others, and old habits die hard.
