You are correct, that's where everyone is - at least on this side of the Atlantic and in the U.S. I believe the Canadians have a Thanksgiving celebration, but at a different time. I actually like Thanksgiving a lot better than Christmas, there's a lot less pressure and it really is about giving and being thankful and not expecting something for yourself. Just appreciating your family and all the good things that go on in your life, it's an uplifting time. Of course, it's kind of dampened by the past history of what we did to the Indians, a very black mark in our history. However, that goes on in all countries and cultures, it's something about man that is genetic. I was watching a nature show on deer and how the big bucks have to fight for their territory and their doe and whoever is the winner gets the herd. Kind of like, out with the old and in with the new. The old, dying buck is left bleeding and crippled, food for the hungry coyotes or birds to pick at. It all seems so cruel, but it is something that is necessary in this life for some reason. Anyway, I just thought how much all species are like that, vying for domination and territory and how cruel it all seems. It seems it will never end, in spite of the fact that we have the ability to learn and change, sadly.

So, all that to say, we had a nice Thanksgiving with our little family and that's where I've been. Eating turkey and pie and trying not to get too much fatter. Hope you are having a nice weekend also.
