I think you ask a valid question but after so many testimonies of people who didn't stop tithing to them until later, I wonder what leaving the family really means? I understand perfectly what you are saying and it is worth exploring but just as some parents need to examine themselves in their relationship with their children (SGAs) this is also a topic some may need to approach with care. When did they really leave the Family? Just like you, when I left I didn't turn my head back lest I became like Lot's wife because physically leaving the Family is not necessarily "leaving" at all. I suspect this is another big point of denial in some.

Here are some questions that may help define the topic in their minds:

When did you start thinking about the possibility that David Berg was a [true] prophet?

Why did you start thinking about the possibility that David Berg was a [true] prophet?

When did you stop thinking about David Berg as a [true] prophet?

Did you stop tithing to the Family before, at the same time or after you physically left the Family? How long before or after?

Did you ever equate tithing to the Family with being in the Family?
