Here is my honest opinion: I think the family preys on vulnerability regardless of who or what age people are. I think that there are definite separate issues with being a second generation person vs. F.G.
When I see the family getting into the spotlight with kiddy viddies and wholesome "Christian" fronts, and knowing their aim (youth and powerful allies), I congratulate anyone working in any way for any reason as THEY personally feel led to do, as long as the consequences of actions are well thought out.
My wish would be to see more neutral (family, religion-free therapeutic zones) where people could get on their feet and get their lives started once out of that group.
When I say this, I advocate it only for people that would want to utilize it. For now, it is in existing resources.
I think that abuses of all kinds hold similarities to what occurred in the family to youth and to vulnerable adults. That is why I believe there are resources for those who want to take advantage of them. And hope for more in the future. I see that people having different ideas or focus as positive for the most part. And telling your story of abuse, even as an adult exer, can well be exploited, generally sensationalized and very damaging to the person. So it is, imo, count the cost of actions. Sometimes the most positive actions are just living and enjoying whatever time you have on this earth along the way.
