You said, 'I think it would be really helpful to have some articles by FGs that have left within the last 5 yrs and to hear about their struggles, how they found support, how they are dealing with the past, how they are adjusting with their families, or by being a family unit for the first time, making their own decisions.'
I was trying to offer support saying yes FG's have left recently, maybe I was not very clear.
As far as, 'I could ask you why you didn't have the "guts" to get out way before two years ago, especially with children.'
Not sure what you meant by that but it sounded like an attack?????
I didn't realise TF was the wrong place to be until 2 yrs ago. It was not a knee jerk responce on our part to leave but something we thought about long and hard until we were convinced it was the right thing to do. Then it did take guts to leave a third world country with almost nothing in our pockets, homeless with 6 kids, the last time being in 'the system' was just before being recruited to TF after leaving High School.
I felt like I had stepped back in time and was almost as unequiped for independent life as I would have been leaving high school all those years ago. The only difference was I was 43, married with 6 kids and had no assets, credentials or relevant experience to fall back on when landing in 'the system'.
