Nobody can make you feel embarrassed without your consent. There are two people involved in this. There has to be a collusion somehow, because people can say whatever they want to me, but that does not mean it is going to affect me, especially if the person saying it is not important in my life.

This thing has been re hashed so many times. It was a comment that could be taken in so many different ways. If I well recall, the sentence that came after said something like
"I do love your right wing soul, gf"
not exactly a nasty sentence...sounds friendly. Depending on the tone of voice (that we don't have because it was only text) we could interpret it many different ways.

is it possible that you and others have been making a mountain out of a molehill?

so get over it! it was not the end of the world, it was one comment, it was not terribly insulting, and I have to wonder at A's fragile emotional state and self-esteem if this thing has had such a strong effect on her.
I thought she would be a lot stronger and a lot more self-assured than that from the feisty way in which she has handled posting for a long time.

can we give this a rest?
