The lavender thing is lingerie.
The turquoise thing, I'm wondering if it was something sewn for her by one of her servants. I know someone quipped "she dresses herself" because it looks awful, but she could have had one of her helpers make this thinking it looked good.
Does anybody remember the Confidential Questionnaires about the time of the RNR? One of the questions was whether you knew somebody who would be useful in MO & Maria's home, with skils such as ... and it went on to list such skills as handyman, seamstress, sex helper (honest to God).
Regarding seamstresses, it went into additional detail, such as if you knew how to sew without a pattern just from looking at a dress.
And remember that picture in the Davidito book where he's helping Sue sew the hem of Mommy's dress?
