innocents in the persecution

But wouldn't it be a fact that as soon as one is associated with Zerby and giving their lives to her organization, innocent or not, they will pay the price? I mean, even though I'm out of the group and have been for years, the mere association to it could bring a lot of 'persecution' into the lives of my children, though they are innocent of ever having been involved. Maybe it's more a warning than a threat?

I've had to pay the price myself of 'persecution' even though I consider myself mostly innocent in that I was brought into the group as a child. But yet, in the past, we were constantly warned about being 'persecuted' and us innocent children were brought up to believe that it was just around the corner at any moment if we dared to step out of line or expose ourselves to the 'enemy'.

But now the way things have been heading in view of the group being exposed for its actual crimes, it's just a fact that if you are connected to it, you will be part of its downfall, innocent or not. Look at the Aum Shinrikyo in Japan. The children of the cult have been ostracized in their neighborhoods, bullied, and cut-off by the local societies, and the dark aura of "Aum" follows them around wherever they go. And they are innocent.

So, yes, I would consider it more a warning than a threat.
