Here's a link to a fascinating interview with a U.S. soldier who worked as an interpretor at Guantanamo. He backs up what you are saying Joseph. There is much similarity between his experiences and those of an indoctrinated cult member. His training taught him that everything he witnessed there was acceptable because approved by the chain of command. But it caused him tremendous inner turmoil because morally and ethically he knew it was wrong.
