Normally I'd say that's not a necessary acid test. Everyone goes through the mental exiting process at different speeds. Some have been out years and still think Berg was a prophet. Some already realize while in the Family still that Berg & Zerby are crappo, but still think the Family as a movement/lifestyle is still the best thing on earth tho 'mistakes were made.'
But you are absolutely right that some kind of acid test DOES need to happen for high-profile members who suddenly claim they're 'out'. Especially after what Barry did. To be accepted as truly 'out' they have to say or do something that proves it. We know the Family's history of lying only too well.
