I was referring to Monger's opinion. As a former memeber of the cult, he has every right to state his views & opinions without being said to be somehow tilting the balances by raising questions. As far as I can see from reading this board and MovingOn, he views Chancellor to be attempting to be fair, even if he (Chancellor) doesn't achieve it, because he ignores the weight of evidence of documented ritual abuse by the survivors.

But I certainly agree with you on how Chancellor, as an academic, should be more ethical in his reporting. How he can ignore the evidence I have no idea. He must simply not read it. This,of course is to be expected. People filter information according to their bias, & the amount he is willing to overlook abuse shows he has some predetermined biases in place. Despite that, I think Chancellor sincerely believes he is being even-minded & fair, impartial even.

From the viewpoint of survivors of Family abuse, this is clearly ludicrous. Chancellor may be sincere, but he is not genuinely in touch with his deep motives or he would know that he is not truly being impartial. An impartial academic could not overlook such issues.
