"As anyone who has worked with the media will tell you, despite the seemingly obvious crimes committed on us, it is not a given that our accounts will be believed."

This was particularly true in the early 1990s when the oldest cohort began speaking to the media, but now there are several hundred cases involving a wide range of people who grew up in different parts of the world. The number and diversity of their stories corroborate a core set of facts about what took place up to the British Court Case in 1993.

TFI's policy of sexualizing young children is part of an historic era and quite sensational. TFI's revision of this policy does not change the other forms of abuse that continue, such as medical neglect, lack of education & exploitation of child labour. I think it's still fairly sensational for a religious group to promote policies that treat children like chattel.

"There will be many more media stories in the next few years. I anticipate that not all of those will be gentle on the victims. However I believe the balance will favor us."

I don't understand how the media could be "ungentle" on the victims, unless it involves stories from people who denied abuse while in TFI, then tell horrific stories of abuse after leaving.

There are no doubt victims like Merry Berg who have mental illnesses, drug addictions, and crimal histories, but are such victims providing interviews?
