Jo- I was a leader in Stockholm in 1971-1973. In fact, Chen and I were sent there to pioneer the first colony. By mid 1973, I was put on the shit list for several things, things that I write about in "Stealing God." If you are interested in what I remember about my experience, your can read the novel.
Please remember that your experience in the COG was not my experience in the COG. I wish I could remember every factual detail from thirty years ago, it would have made writing my novel much easier.
I believe that you have a very emotional memory of these incidents; the removal of your children, the unjust dropping of you off in the snowy cold at 2am. After speaking and writing to many SGAs over these last few months, I have found that they have a very good handle on the emotional side of their memories of events, horrible events, -yet the factual side is still a blurr to so many. Many remember faces, but not names or places.
You may feel that the horrible things that happened to you were partly my fault because I was a leader at the time that they happened to you. I can see how you could feel. I could feel that it is all the leader's fault that sat over me, Little Esther. She could believe it was the fault of the leader's that sat over her, Berg.
I have never felt that my actions or choices were the fault of leaders above me. That's where I part ways with many former members.
So, you could make the case that I was indirectly responsible for the horrible things that happened to you for every minute you were in Sweden when I was a leader. For every minute you were there, while I was a leader, I am truly sorry.
