This is what I had feared

Especially what MG said from his experience, that when it comes right down to it, the Family Aid Fund only kicks in a small amount. In fact, this was confirmed by OWK who corrected me saying that the Family Aid Fund did not cover ALL the medical expenses of Frank's wife, only part, & as you've pointed out MG there seems to something of a ceiling to the amount the FAF is prepared to spend.

Let's face it, medical treatment for serious illnesses is not cheap & I don't believe the will within the Family truly exists to care for their members' medical needs -- even those who have given their entire lives in service. They can argue till their blue in the face that they don't have the money but it just doesn't cut it. If they truly wanted to provide serious medical care apart from prayer & prophecy, they would find a way to do it. 'It can't be done,' says Peter, going over the books. 'Can't be done' is something losers say.

What seems to be happening is that the FAF kicks in a token amount, just so the Family can say that they do help financially with medical expenses, to deflect criticism that they are still doing nothing, still letting members die of serious but preventable/curable illnesses.

I'd also be interested what Freeatlast's experince was, since she left so recently.
