Yes, I agree that there should be a firm declaration against the Berg and Zerby and what they stand for and have perpetrated in our lives. It is sickening when people leave and can't face the reality of the horrible things we were part of. I have seen it's also very discouraging for their children when they are actually out, but try to in different ways stay in good standing, or just don't quite want to break all the ties, or want to come out and yell at the top of your lungs, "Thank God I'm free!!!"

There is a tendency to not want to face such a large hunk of your life and realize that you blew it, but it makes a big difference when you do. I think this is especially important for first generation to make the break and the stance very clear for their children.

When you first leave it takes a little time for it all to come clear. As you go along and it does, I think it's important that step by step you let your children and others know how you see it and how putrified you feel about it. I think many first generation adults would be very happy to be able to state very clearly how they feel about their relationship with the Family, if it wasn't going to be a link to their name on the Internet.
