That is really generous of you. I'm trying hard not to be melodramatic, but you brought tears to my eyes. And I really don't know why, as I have a clean conscience about my own record with any SGs and I left the cult in good time. As far as I know, the only people I hurt were my own children (with strange or harsh discipline), and I have apologized to them repeatedly for this.
There is a lot to be learned about letting go and forgiving for your own benefit. It just gets next to impossible though, when perps do all they can to deny or minimalize everything that happened. Then you find yourself going the other way, maximalizing it, pressing the point home and demanding amends. I ought to know. I was also a victim of abuse.
