Farmer, you wrote: "Aren't you "glad, somebody is keeping an eye on you"?...here I am silly again...I am notoriously sarcastic/ironic...but hardly in English."

Ok, you acknowledge that you are being sarcastic. I would just point out that your comment about somebody keeping an eye on me is obviously related to the subtitle of one of my blogs, which reads "Keeping an eye on cults, sects, isms and other religious nonsense." There is a huge difference that I shouldn't have to point out. Cults and other religious nonsense present a real danger to people, and thus need a watchful eye, whereas I present no danger to any one (especially since I've abandoned religion) and therefore do not need anyone to keep an eye on me.

As for your assumption that I would forbid the spreading of the Bible, you couldn't be more wrong. See my answer to Miguel above. Forbidding something only makes it more desirous, so that's the last thing I would want to do. No, as I wrote to Miguel, I think the Bible should be treated as all other so-called holy books, as a work of historical fiction ( the kind of story where a little historical fact is mixed with a whole lot of fiction) and presented to children in a comparative religion course as just one of many quaint but wrong ways to view the world and the universe.
