In Reply to: Re: One more addition..one thing I foget to mention in my post above posted by OT2 on February 23, 2011 at 08:14:37:

I am not intending to get into any argument, but one general caution...context does give away a lot for the possible range of interpretation
Rom 11:28 As concerning the gospel, [they are] enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, [they are] beloved for the fathers' sakes.

Rom 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God [are] without repentance.
(that's what you quoted)

One brother/leader once reminded me of the extent of the following verse...only that he thought the Mo letters amounted to the word of God...
Psa 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
(You said: Verb tenses hardly change God; no?)

So how important is then also the fine analysis of the context/tenses...I dare say it's very important...lest we force upon ourselves or others an interpretation...not my intention anymore...I left TF and they had no knowledge of the tenses...Berg being the best example.

OT2...don't mind me saying that...but as for a boost in faith I still believe God does today a lot for babes in Christ or on the missionfield for those who earnestly seek HIM...but then later blessings are kind of contingent on obedience...not so much different than from other parental care

"Languages must be more fully known before doctrine is fully formed; IMHO. ;-) "

You mind to explain that?...I know theologians who know the Bible language profoundly and come nevertheless to "strange conclusions"...like I said many times..God is not the author of confusion...so the whole picture must fit...I agree, that HE changes not...but we change often/adapt our perspection of what HE intends to say , did and intends to do

Still I know one personally, who knows Hebrew better than many theologians with a degree...plus very good Greek knowledge...still he thinks/thought, he should keep the Sabbath...in the meantime, he got a bit away from that...

I am somewhere in between...have some rudimentary knowledge through a University basic course and the rest is tons of resources at home...adding some Bible knowledge over a stretch of 35 years...thinking now to have some fundamental knowledge, what could fit or where something is "muddled"...last not least I never intend to attack people on their personal experiences...it's a no no for me...

Said friend with fantastic Hebrew knowledge...in his charismatic days...asked for prayer and he said his leg got longer...I am not getting into any x-ray debate...W.Lerrick tried to explain that leg-discrepancy...since it seems to be more often...with some burden on the soul etc. etc....relief is possible I think...nonetheless

Like I said in my long post...body...soul ...spirit....the body gets transformed or dies...hence it is the least "thing" to be worried about in the eternal context...that's what I basically meant to say...and frankly I think God needs some ways of chastising His children...otherwise they become even more of an offense

Bottomline...healing possible...in biblical context...kind of conditional...humility/obedience as "ingredience"
