Every so often I wondered about this same point. The promises of doom and gloom never bothered me when I was in TF, or even now. But I saw plenty of people in TF who were motivated by the fear you talk about. I know some people still are affected by those same fears, and that is why I started wondering about the fear's origin. Was that based on beliefs they had before joining and that grew out of control through the letters of Berg the con man? They must have assigned a lot of power to his pro-feces. Where did that blind acceptance came from? I did accepted his leadership[ and authority but there was a limit, and that line was set by Jesus. I knew that I was responsible for my actions and my decisions, and I owned them, Jesus had made me free letting act as I wanted. His word was more important to me than Berg's.
