atf, one size does not fit all

In the family, I had to adhere to a filter from the top regarding my viewpoints about A-Z. Afterwards, it was a path of self-discovery, as in- what do I believe/ not believe, from how to dress to how to vote to how to how to pray, meditate, or not.
After the family, one size does not fit all. I don't feel lost and in need of salvation, but I can sure respect that someone else did, or does feel that way.
Right now, the world is in crisis on a number of fronts, from the global economy to climate extremes and political melt downs that are starting as a result. These events are effecting just about everybody in one way or another. What do I hold onto? I guess that would be the relationships I have in my life today and what works for me. I do belong to a twelve step group that is a big support and which I participate in, and I have worked on nuturing family connections over the years. Life is never perfect, but these are things that help me- giving and taking and being a part of the world around me. At this board, I don't say things to be controversial. I say them as it relates to my journey after the family. I don't see side- taking but I am glad to see I am not alone in having a path that does differ some from some of the more regular participants. I don't see that as being wrong- nor do I see others as errant or wrong for having a significantly different path from mine. What is right for me may be wrong for someone else. I guess that is "Live and let live".
I do see similarities for all here, in that we have all had to process the past and learn to make decisions for ourselves after leaving TF, not unlike Shawshank Redemption- where years of institutionalization kills spirit and revival of soul is not an easy journey. I do wish all here the best on your continuing journeys.
