a : having a spiritual meaning or reality that is neither apparent to the senses nor obvious to the intelligence b : involving or having the nature of an individual's direct subjective communion with God or ultimate reality

faith is not "apparent to the`senses" (jn3:8) nor obvious to the intelligence (heb11:1-3, 1cor2:6-14, ro8:4-5 etcetc) as for direct communion w/ God, i'd look to jn14-17 for starts. as far as subjective goes... we all see now thru a glass darkly... interpretations of Gods revelation are unavoidably "subjective" as we are all just subjects. no one has the whole elephant, so we do the best we can, learn as we go, but still believe that the Spirit of God is in us and leading, tho we follow imperfectly. nonetheless. if it isn't direct communion, i would opine perhaps you may have misread luther.(who, btw, believed in transubstantation, i'm pretty sure.)

but i'm fine w/ letting it go. my guess is we won't likely change each others subjective positions. blessings.
