Your point about the term is well taken. They should abolish such an exclusively religious term for an individual tasked with armed forces mental health needs, and make it about the competency of the mental health professional, not his claim to religious authority. Your statement suggesting Major Nidal Hasan when referencing psychiatrists, shows your hateful mentality. One which casts aspersions against the field by association. It would be just as appropriate (that is to say inappropriate) for me to have responded to your initial post with a comment about how there should be more chaplains since they do so much good since Chaplain LTC Keith Jackson the child rapist comes to mind. BTW Major Hasan speaks not to the levelheadedness of humanists but to that of religious fundamentalists.
