I just quote you here and open a new thread...where feelings...fears etc should get the central position...

"Okay, let me try and be more concrete:
Are you noticing any fears that might be greater for you when looking at current events, because of the influence from when you were in TF (emphasis on the negative focus on disasters, middle east etc- and fear prophecies.)
Questions were not about debating belief but were about how past beliefs affect feelings with current events today. I think I gave the example of feeling very scared, years ago, when the first Gulf War occurred- I was kinda feeling like some great and horrible thing was about to happen and that fear was based in past fear focus in TF, even after rejecting- on another level- the abusive cult."

(Are you really meaning: "very scared"...???...)

First off...
There seems to be a discrepancy in perception/terminology reading the English and German Wikipedia sites...as what was the first gulf war...to understand you a bit better I had to google it.

The Irak/Persia-Iran-war (starting 1980) was in so much significant for me (still in TFI), as I really hurried to get to the mission field of Thailand, when they mounted up the rhetoric warfare before the war broke out...I kind of was back from the mission field for various reasons, when it actually had broken out (atomic warfare was then still the option, assumption by Berg and TFI)

As far as Gulf war I...English tterminology...I was not really concerned...the winner was already known before hand or not???

There's a common anxiety/fear...as far as war is concerned, not surprising to me

...for some strange reason...sometimes men go with great national pride and favor into some wars...kind of proud to die for a cause...

So if you want...in the beginning those men overcame their fears by some (false) pride...and later...it is known for WWI, to me...many soldiers became totally abhorred/traumatised by the tremendous monstrosities linked with modern warfare...who first joined that war voluntarily

...I would have to ask my son...who studied history...how men in the past (ancient times) overcame their fears...I'd say part of itshould also be group dynamics....plus may be some religious promises or earthly ones...should they survive.

However for a Christian...real love overcomes fear...the love of God...being accepted, forgiven and having deep promises for our welfare.

So fears can be exploited...any feelings can be exploited....feelings are real and I had fears before TFI...within TFI...some....and a few afterwards...afterwards especially to get things right for my loved ones, to master job-situations...fear of man was involved

I said it many times here before, that the feeling of love got exploited heavily by TFI (mixing up sexual love = eros with agapae)

...so frankly I am not so much talking/thinking about the fear of the future (although getting older means also for me getting the "house"/life cleaned up...prepared to leave the "scene") or of rumours of wars

...in biblical context that brought up more the thought or rather "excitement", whether the time has come closer, when Jesus would take over the world...something I don't mind at all as a Christian...nevertheless the ugliness of wars remains...independent of that.

So I am not sure, whether we both react or have reacted emotionally totally in accordance???... I am pretty relaxed watching the news

...I only marvel lots of times about the stupidity of man and also the politicians...I guess that is part of our "tribulation"/ and trials here...enduring the "amateurs" and also the ruthless criminals at the top

But I share with you the disdain/contempt for "prophets"...who exploit this ignorance of believers to suit their own needs or who just happen to be blind leaders of the blind

...often I just thought, that Berg was blind...deceiving, because he was blind himself...somewhere down the line in life he must have resisted the truth and not repented of it.

Jhn 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

(for tribulation...root-word...can be seen here:)

Rom 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
