Have you ever read Steven Hassan's book, "Combatting Cult Mind Control"? It's an older book and centers around his experience in the Moonies, and touches on TF, but what you wrote illustrates what TF experience was for so many women- as objects to serve others and it was such a contradiction to what were supposed to be the ideals. I hope you keep talking. There are people who have been out for a long time and perhaps never discussed that past until recently (with other exers) I was fortunte to find therapists that worked with me and didn't charge me, or worked on a sliding scale fee with a very low bottom fee. People that have not been in something like we were have a hard time understanding. Remember some of the letters with their bizarre topics and how weird they would seem, internally, but with so much intensive training on not questioning, and the thought police we were turned into? (on ourselves, others)..well, we are survivors and I am glad to have had the support I came across after I left, though it took some years to connect to it. I am glad your relationship survived and that you have a life outside of TF.
