The Israelis are more powerful than the Palestinians. They also have an aggressive policy of occupation, lending truth to the saying that the best defense is a good offense.
That said, How can you take sides?
Palestinian Arabs have vowed to eliminate Jews since they began immigrating there in the first half of the 20th century. Other Arab states in the region have supported the destruction of Israel ever since one was declared a country in 1948.
Seems to me there's plenty of hatred and cruelty on both sides. Yes, the Palestinians are the underdog, but that hasn't always been the case. In any event, this particular underdog has a vicious bite.
