From what I was told, folks who joined COG from the Jesus People communes were "churchy" and not to be trusted with Mo's "new wine." I think my experience was a little unusual in that I was being groomed/recruited so early for what was to come.
I might have left DC about the time you came. The shepherd's wife hated me after she found out her hubby had been propositioning me. I have no idea what he told her--I just know she strongly encouraged me to leave after she got back with her baby. I went to a farm colony near Roanoke, VA, after DC. Spent the winter of 72-73 there.
