I agree. Abuse of authority/power was/is rampant in the COG/TFI. Such abuse is evil. In "The Lucifer Effect: Understanding How Good People Turn Evil", Philip Zimbardo wrote:

Let's begin with a definition of evil. Mine is a simple, psychologically based one: Evil consists in intentionally behaving in ways that harm, abuse, demean, dehumanize, or destroy innocent others—or using one's authority and systemic power to encourage or permit others to do so on your behalf. In short, it is "knowing better but doing worse."

I did a quick search in the ML database for the exact phrase 'Animal Farm', and got two hits, but they weren't about Orwell's book.

I then searched for 'George Orwell' and got 7 hits but they were all in relation to his book "1984"

I have vague memories of Berg saying something like "some are more equal than others", but not in relation to him quoting Animal Farm. But my memory can fail me and my quick search may have missed that connection.

Given the fact that Berg's 'revolution' ended with the same result as the 'revolution' in Animal Farm, that is, a pig took dictatorial control over the farm, I would really like to find references, however oblique, to Animal Farm in Berg's writings. If anyone happens to find such a reference please post it here. Thanks.
