Something is definitely getting lost in translation. I'm not calling your religion poison. I'm calling the experience of being "saved" with what happened in the Family as being very poisonous in combination. A lot of what I see in religion today gives me the creeps. But I also know people that aren't the al queda version of Christians who are people I call friends.
Not sure what you meant about where things started or ended.
About who has a right to be tired of this debate, anybody does. Any generation. I clearly said that there were definite differences between being born in and joining. My point was that 1G were exploited youth. Many that joined in earlier days before FFing were unaware of what Berg was doing with select few, which were largely minors themselves (though 1G) or looked like minors. Any of that reaching out and touching select few was very "selah". In fact, in early days, the relationship Berg had with Maria as "wife" was selah. Not for long, but it was. TF blames the problems with their sexual situations originated with hippies that were the popular thing for youth to be in that day. But that is far far from truth. Even the hippie movement, though open to sex with others and not firm committment to one person- was not about child molestation, rape or incest. Those are things David Berg was guilty of and craved. Were there sick individuals within? Heck ya. And once sickness became doctrine, there were many who would not have done certain things that did so, and many did so with a gusto.
But many who participated heavily were never hippies and joined in later times when hippies were long past.
I think everyone has a right to be tired of whatever they say they are tired of when it comes to surviving the Family.
I acknowledge the difference between FG/SG as far as joining or having been born and raised in TF. I'm just saying that the youth of early days were exploited within the Family and early bad press and opposition to the Family was based on the very sick control and programming of youth. The division of youth from parents that cared- who were spirited away to keep their family from helping them.
The sexual exploitation was first with Bergs own children. In the family it was first with young adults or teens that joined. Then primarily women with FFing (though all suffered from that doctrine) and the separating of families, the separating of parents and children, the separation of siblings, the ursurping of nuclear family for institutionalization. The whole thing was sick and damaging.
Many 1G women were raped (non-consentual sex- whether someone had sex for fear of losing children or spouse or getting dealt with or literal unwanted advance they felt they had to endure) and many were turned out to prostitution and Berg even wrote a letter that said don't worry if you have STD's keep FFing and don't worry about the tricks or self because it is better to save the soul than the body. Burn the candle at both ends. It's not unlike Al-Queda saying special favor await those in heaven who blow themselves up for Allah and Jihad. So please, understand that I have a right to be angry, hurt, feel used and abused because that did happen to me within the Family as a 1G.
People were systematically broken down and there was so much pressure- so many ways- to conform or face serious consequences.
What whitewashing are you referring to? I don't whitewash experiences of any "G" and I don't mean for this to be a "G" issue.
